Requests for Money

This is the biggest red flag. No matter how amazing someone might seem, anyone who asks you for financial help or money early on (or really at any point) is probably not there for genuine reasons.

Stories That Seem Too Extreme or Outlandish

Some scammers use dramatic stories to gain sympathy and make you feel like they need “help.” If the story sounds off, don’t ignore that feeling.

Being Rushed or Manipulated

Sometimes scammers or disingenuous people will try to make you feel guilty for setting boundaries or saying no. Don’t fall for it—stand by what feels comfortable to you.

Unusual Links or Attachments

If someone sends you a link to a strange-looking website, an unknown attachment, or even asks you to “verify” something with an unusual URL, avoid clicking and report it to the Love Jollof team.
